Kiteboarding or sometimes called kitesurfing is like wakeboarding without a boat. Instead of a boat pulling you along the water, you are creating power with a giant sail and that giant sail is a kite. The kite is controlled by the rider with a bar that is attached to the kite by four lines. Depending on the placement and movements of the kite, the kiteboarder controls his direction and the amount of power that is generated.

Learning is easy as 1.2.3. Our students can not believe they are being taught on beaches where most of the time you don’t see ANYONE else during your lesson! Turks & Caicos Islands: remote, uncrowded conditions, warm shallow turquoise water. This is kiteboarding paradise. This is Kite Provo!

1. POWER KITE FLYING FUNDAMENTALS

If you’ve never flown a power kite before then this is your first feel of the excitement of kiting. Different size kites make this sport available for everyone. Have fun learning the handling skills to control a power kite. This is an on-land lesson on a sandy Turks & Caicos beach where you learn the theory of the wind window, landing and launching the kite, power and depowering the kite, flying hooked in, and other techniques that will progress you to the Kiteboarding Fundamental H2O class. These skills can also be used for snow kiting, kite buggying, and land boarding.

2. KITEBOARDING FUNDAMENTALS H2O

Time to get wet. Apply the same skills learned on land in the water with a bigger kite, more power, and you are in control! We cover safety, kite relaunch from the water, body dragging, learning to put your board on, water starts, and getting your first rides. You will imagine the thrill of rippin’ across the waters of the Turks & Caicos Islands!

Dive Provo, the premier dive op eration in the Turks and Caicos Islands, knows that experienced divers want the freedom to plan and execute their own dives, explore at their own pace and enjoy the reef without having to follow a group of other divers. A thorough dive briefing is given prior to every dive and divers enter the water in their buddy teams. We are lucky in the Turks and Caicos Islands to have generally spectacular visibility, minimal currents and easy navigation along the edge of the walls. Divers without buddies team with the divemaster and everyone on board explores the reef at their own pace. An underwater marker is used to aid in re-locating the boat and divers enjoy a relaxed dive without worrying about keeping up with the group.

Newer divers are offered advice on buoyancy control and navigation and may prefer to follow the guide in the water, but most soon learn that they see more underwater and enjoy the sport more if they are allowed to control their own dive. This philosophy of diving freedom ensures a core repeat clientele and many word of mouth recommendations. Dive Provo will work with you to plan either a complete vacation package including airfare and hotel, or if you prefer, we have rates for individual dives and discounted dive packages!
