We suffer because our longing for this ideal conflicts with the real. We often feel disconnected from the society. The tense, superficial and materialistic life that holds so many (and so easily catches us too) does not satisfy. We are challenged to express our deeper thoughts and feelings, and yet when we do, we often feel not met or understood. Though we have some outlets for our aspirations and passions, our deeper longing for meaning, connection, participation and contribution remains unfulfilled. And though our achievements give us much, there is still an underlying emptiness; there's something lacking. We know there can be more. 

If this describes you then know that you are not alone. Many feel as you do. This is because in your innermost nature you carry the spirit of a new way of being, of a new world and society, of a new way of living. This spirit speaks to you through your dreams and aspirations, through your discontent with things old, stuck and outdated, through your discomfort with the limits within yourself, and through your longing for meaning and for making a contribution.

Essence Training is an inner work school committed to this process. It's a group of friends on the Path, supporting each other in giving birth to ourselves, and through our inner work, making a contribution to creating a better world.
